U.K. Quantum Startup OQC Secures $350M for Global Expansion

Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) has closed an oversubscribed £260 million ($350 million) Series C funding round, described by the company as Europe’s largest private funding round for a quantum computing company. Led by Bullhound Capital, the round included backing from the British Business Bank, COFIDES, Alpha Edison, Fulcrum Asset Management, Pentland Ventures, and other investors, alongside participation from existing shareholders. Founded in the U.K., OQC develops and operates superconducting quantum computers for enterprise and government customers, with systems deployed in the U.K., the U.S., Japan, and Spain. In June 2025, Oxford Quantum Circuits released its roadmap, aiming to reach 200 logical qubits by 2028 and 50,000 logical qubits by 2034. The company said the funding will support international expansion and further development of its quantum computing roadmap. CEO Gerald Mullally called the investment “a clear shift in the market, from long-term promise to near-term delivery in quantum computing,” adding that it provides capital to “scale internationally” and address growing demand for “secure, scalable access to quantum computing infrastructure.”
